Safety & Dating Tips

Last updated: April 2025

Overview

Chuapi was created to help people form meaningful connections. While we work to keep the platform safe, your personal safety always comes first.

Use these guidelines as best practices when interacting with new people online or in person.

Important Safety Notice — Florida Dating Safety Act

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: Chuapi does not conduct criminal background screenings on its users. We recommend you take safety precautions when meeting someone for the first time.

Chuapi does not verify whether users appear on the Sex Offender Registry. For information on registered sexual offenders, visit the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Sex Offender Registry at www.fdle.state.fl.us or the National Sex Offender Public Website at www.nsopw.gov.

Protect Your Personal Information

  • Keep conversations inside Chuapi until you feel comfortable
  • Avoid sharing addresses, financial information, or verification codes
  • Never send money or gifts to someone you have not met in person
  • Be cautious about sharing your last name, workplace, or daily routine early in a conversation

Watch for Suspicious Behavior

If something feels wrong, trust your instincts and report the profile immediately.

  • Urgent requests for money or pressure to move conversations off-platform quickly
  • Avoidance of video calls or real-time interaction
  • Conflicting information in a profile or across conversations
  • Someone who professes strong feelings very quickly before meeting you in person
  • Requests for financial help, gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency

Meeting in Person

  • Meet in public places, arrange your own transportation, and share your plans with a friend or family member
  • Stay alert and limit alcohol or substances during initial meetings
  • Leave immediately if a situation feels unsafe — you do not owe anyone an explanation
  • Consider a video call before meeting in person to verify someone is who they say they are
  • Do not share your home address until you have established trust over multiple in-person meetings

Reporting & Moderation

Report behavior that violates our guidelines. The moderation team reviews reports, may analyze interactions, and can remove content or suspend accounts to protect the community. We aim to review reports within 48–72 business hours.

To report a user, use the report feature within the app or contact us directly at chuapi.app@gmail.com. Include as much detail as possible.

Age Verification Policy

  • Chuapi is intended for users 18 years and older
  • Accounts suspected of belonging to minors or using false identity information may be suspended
  • We may request additional verification (email, phone, or other identity checks) when suspicious activity is detected
  • Users are encouraged to report profiles that appear to belong to minors — community safety is a shared responsibility
