1. Overview

Effective Date: April 15, 2025 · Last Updated: May 2026

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how Pirobeta Labs LLC ("Pirobeta Labs," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects your information when you use the Chuapi platform, including any website, mobile application, or related service (collectively, the "Service").

Chuapi is intended for use by residents of the United States only. The main reason we process your data is to provide and continuously improve the Service. We are committed to being transparent about how we handle your information and to giving you meaningful control over it.

By accessing or using Chuapi, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. This Policy is incorporated by reference into our Terms & Conditions.

2. Information You Provide Directly

We collect information you give us when you create or update your account, use the Service, or contact us:

  • Account information: name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and password
  • Profile content: photos, personal bio, gender identity, sexual orientation, preferences, and interests
  • Communications: messages, reactions, and interactions you have with other users on the platform
  • Payment details: billing information processed securely through third-party payment providers (we do not store full card numbers)
  • Support requests: information you provide when contacting our support team
  • Optional data: any additional information you choose to add to your profile

3. Sensitive Information

Because Chuapi is a connection platform, you may choose to share information that may be considered sensitive in certain jurisdictions, such as your sexual orientation, gender identity, relationship preferences, or other personal characteristics.

This data is shared voluntarily by you as part of your profile. By choosing to include this information, you explicitly consent to us storing and using it to provide the Service, including for matching and recommendation features.

You can update or remove sensitive information from your profile at any time through your account settings.

4. Information Collected Automatically

When you access or use the Service, we automatically collect certain technical and behavioral data:

  • Device information: device type, operating system, browser type and version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information
  • Usage data: features used, content viewed, interactions, session duration, engagement metrics, and in-app activity
  • Location data: approximate location derived from your IP address; precise location only if you explicitly grant permission
  • Log data: IP addresses, access times, pages viewed, referring URLs, and error logs
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 9 for details

5. Information from Third Parties

We may receive information about you from:

  • Authentication providers (e.g., Google, Apple) if you sign in using a third-party account
  • Microsoft Clarity, for session recording and heatmap analytics to understand how users interact with the Service
  • Meta (Facebook) Pixel, for measuring the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns
  • Other users who report, mention, or share information about you through the platform

6. How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your account and deliver the Service
  • To generate and improve connection recommendations and compatibility features
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions or purchases
  • To communicate with you about your account, updates, and promotional offers (where permitted)
  • To enforce our Terms & Conditions, Community Guidelines, and policies
  • To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, harassment, and safety threats
  • To analyze usage patterns and improve the platform's performance and features
  • To train machine learning models using anonymized or aggregated data derived from profile preferences, matching patterns, and platform interactions — we do not use the content of private messages between users to train AI models
  • To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal obligations

7. Legal Bases for Processing

Depending on your location and applicable law, we rely on the following legal grounds to process your personal data:

  • Performance of contract: to fulfill our obligations to you under our Terms & Conditions
  • Legitimate interest: to improve our services, ensure safety, prevent fraud, and operate our business responsibly
  • Your consent: for processing sensitive data such as sexual orientation, or for certain marketing communications — you may withdraw consent at any time
  • Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws, court orders, and regulatory requirements
  • Vital interests: to protect the safety of users or third parties in emergency situations

8. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to data brokers or third-party advertisers for their independent use. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • With other users: your public profile (name, photos, bio, preferences) is visible to other users as part of the matching experience
  • Service providers: third-party vendors that assist us with hosting, authentication, analytics (Microsoft Clarity), advertising measurement (Meta Pixel), payment processing (Stripe), email delivery (AWS SES), and customer support, under strict confidentiality obligations
  • Legal requirements: when required by law, subpoena, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Pirobeta Labs, our users, or others
  • Law enforcement: we may respond to lawful requests from law enforcement, regulators, and courts when legally required; we will notify you when permitted by law
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the same privacy protections
  • With your consent: for any other purpose disclosed to you with your explicit prior approval

9. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We and our service providers use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember preferences, and analyze usage. The following third-party tools are active on this site:

  • Microsoft Clarity: session recording, heatmaps, and behavioral analytics. Data is processed by Microsoft Corporation. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement at privacy.microsoft.com.
  • Meta Pixel: measures the performance of advertising campaigns on Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram). Data is processed by Meta Platforms, Inc. See Meta's Data Policy at facebook.com/policy.
  • Essential cookies: required for the Service to function; cannot be disabled
  • Preference cookies: store your settings and choices

10. Platform Communications

The Chuapi platform may send you in-app messages from a Chuapi team account to provide safety information, account updates, onboarding guidance, and support. These messages are sent by Pirobeta Labs staff or automated platform systems — not by other users.

Pirobeta Labs staff will never ask for your password, payment details, or sensitive personal documents through in-app messages.

11. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, deletion is immediate — we do not hold your profile, photos, or conversations in a pending-deletion window:

  • Profile and account data: deleted immediately upon account closure — your profile, photos, and every conversation you were part of are removed at the moment you confirm deletion
  • Account identity: your sign-in credentials are deleted immediately, so the account cannot be used to sign in again
  • Active subscriptions: any active subscription is cancelled immediately as part of account deletion, so you are not billed again
  • Safety records: if a safety report was filed about your account, a minimal record of that report — containing no photos, messages, or contact information — is retained indefinitely as part of our moderation history, even after account deletion, so that someone cannot use deletion to erase a safety record
  • Transaction and payment records: retained for up to 10 years to comply with tax and accounting legal requirements
  • Customer support records: retained for up to 6 years from the date of the communication
  • Legal hold: data may be retained longer if subject to active litigation, investigation, or regulatory inquiry
  • Aggregated or anonymized data: may be retained indefinitely as it can no longer be used to identify you

12. Data Security & Breach Notification

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and security monitoring.

HOWEVER, NO METHOD OF ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION OR STORAGE IS 100% SECURE. WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THE ABSOLUTE SECURITY OF YOUR DATA.

In the event of a data breach that is likely to affect your rights or freedoms, we will notify you promptly and without unreasonable delay — and in any case within the timeframe required by applicable law, including within 30 days for Florida residents as required by the Florida Information Protection Act (FIPA). We will also notify relevant state authorities (such as the Florida Attorney General for breaches affecting more than 500 Florida residents) as required by applicable law.

13. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights including:

  • Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion: request erasure of your personal data, subject to legal retention obligations
  • Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format where technically feasible
  • Objection or restriction: object to or restrict certain types of processing, including direct marketing
  • Withdrawal of consent: where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing

14. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including:

  • The right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell (we do not sell personal information)
  • The right to delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions
  • The right to correct inaccurate personal information
  • The right to opt out of the "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, including data transmitted to Meta Pixel and Microsoft Clarity for advertising measurement purposes
  • The right not to be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights

15. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. However, our use of Meta Pixel and Microsoft Clarity may constitute "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

If you are a California resident and wish to opt out of this sharing, you may do so by: (1) clicking "Decline" on the cookie consent banner when you visit our site; or (2) contacting us at chuapi.app@gmail.com with the subject "CCPA Opt-Out" and we will process your request within 15 business days.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. If your browser transmits a GPC signal, we will treat it as a request to opt out of the sharing of your personal information for advertising purposes.

16. Children's Privacy

The Service is strictly restricted to individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a minor has created an account or provided personal information, we will take immediate steps to delete that data and terminate the account.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. In accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), if we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

If you believe a minor is using Chuapi, please report it immediately to chuapi.app@gmail.com.

17. Geographic Scope

Chuapi is operated from the United States and is intended for US residents only. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so at your own risk and are responsible for complying with the laws of your jurisdiction.

Your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the Service, you acknowledge and consent to this transfer.

18. Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control

Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals. Because no uniform standard exists for DNT, Chuapi does not currently alter its data collection practices in response to DNT signals.

However, we do recognize and respond to Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. If your browser or browser extension transmits a GPC signal (Sec-GPC: 1), we will treat it as a request to opt out of the sharing of your personal information for advertising purposes, as required by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

19. Third-Party Services & Links

The Service may contain links to or integrate with third-party websites, social media platforms, or applications. This Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any external service you access through Chuapi. Pirobeta Labs is not responsible for the privacy practices of any third party.

20. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this Policy and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the Service or by email.

Your continued use of the Service after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
